We got onto the bus and went to the AMC lodge. When we got there we met all of the AMC group leaders. There were 4 of them. Then we played a few games including Mountain baseball and a game where you got to sound like an animal. Then we tried to find the other people who are making the same sound as you but your eyes are closed. After that we found out what group everyone was in and who their leader was. After that we played a few more activities. Where the group leader got to know our names. Then Mr. Woolner gave all the groups 3 fountain pens and 2 GPS devices. We started hiking after that. The first thing we looked at was a hobble bush plant. The second thing was a plant which you can eat the root of. I was told that it tastes good but I will never know because I didn't try it. About 10 minutes later we stopped and had a snack. Then after we ate our snack we played a game with a clothespin. After another 1 hour we ate our lunch and watched a stream of water while we did so. Then we found a beach leaf and sketched it in our sketchbook. Then we hiked until we found a river and there we took another break. We all threw rocks in the river and had a lot of fun. Then we stopped at wellton Falls and dipped our heads in the water. To get our hair wet because we were sweating from hiking. Then about 1 hour and 30 minutes later we finished the hike and got back on the bus and went home.
I assigned Human Environment/Interaction to Day 1 because we did a lot of things that impacted the environment. Like we dug up a plant and ate the root of it. We also took leaves off of trees and sketched them. Another thing we did to impact the environment was kick rocks around while waiting for the bus.
